Copyrights Directorate (DDA)
The Copyrights Directorate is responsible for protecting copyrights and related rights. It resolves as first instance adversary and non-adversary proceedings subject to its jurisdiction, at the request of a party or ex-officio. It manages the National Copyrights and Related Rights Registry, as well as certificates of incorporation or amendments corresponding to the Collective Management of Copyrights and Related Rights Office.
Inventions and New Technologies Directorate (DIN)
The Inventions and New Technologies Directorate is in charge of examining and resolving, as first administrative instance, applications for invention patents, utility model patents, industrial designs, protection certificates, indigenous peoples’ collective knowledge, integrated circuits and new plant breeders’ rights. In addition, it is in charge of resolving adversary proceedings arising from registries it manages.
Trademarks Directorate (DSD)
The Trademarks Directorate provides services for the registration of trademarks, trade names and slogans and appellations of origin. In addition, it is in charge of registering trademarks, trade names and slogans and appellations of origin. Likewise, it resolves as first administrative instance objections to registration procedures, cancellation and annulment of registries, as well as complaints for infringement of industrial property rights.
