INDECOPI’s Defense of Competition Chamber No. 1 is the functional agency that reviews, as second and last administrative instance, proceedings relating to the defense of competition as a result of appeals filed by any of the parties against the resolutions that end the first administrative instance, with the purpose of being reviewed by the higher body.
Likewise, it resolves complaints filed against any Commission regarding competition issues, INDECOPI’s Tribunal Chambers or any official working for them on the grounds of alleged procedural defects.
In addition, Defense Competition Chamber No. 1 may pronounce itself in relation to clarification, extension and amendment requests. INDECOPI’s Commissions or functional agencies whose resolutions may be challenged before Defense Competition Chamber No. 1 are:

Standardization and Non-tariff Barriers Surveillance Commission.
Overseeing of Unfair Competition Commission.

To establish itself as an administrative agency for ensuring fair and free competition in Peru to promote good market operations.

Mandate
To review and resolve, as second and last administrative instance, procedures related to the defense of competition, specifically free competition, unfair competition, elimination of bureaucratic barriers, insolvency, anti-dumping and countervailing duties, regulation and control of non-tariff trade barriers.
